Wherefore do you Linger in the Place of Danger?

Wherefore do you linger
In the place of danger?
Why, O sinner, dwell you longer
Far from God and home?
There is nought but sorrow,
Death and swift destruction,
In that great, that dread tomorrow,
Of the sinner’s doom.
Jesus bids you enter
Into joys eternal,
Every blessing finds its centre
In the Saviour’s Name.
Why not come believing,
In this hour of blessing?
Faith the means of your receiving
Rest of heart in Him.
Helpless your condition,
He alone can pardon,
Come! oh come! in true contrition,
Sinner, to Him.
