The first entrance of our Lord into public service was apparently His journey from Nazareth to Jordan to be baptized of John. The day after the baptism, John seeing our Lord coming to him, exclaimed, “Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Again, the day following, looking upon Jesus as He walked, John said, “Behold the Lamb of God” (v. 36).
